The Pleasant
Mountains Performing Arts & Artists’ Association,
Inc. was founded in 1996 by Charlotte Nolan,
president; Ann Schertz, vice president and Clara
Atkins-Pope, Secretary/Treasurer. The mission
statement for this organization reads:
“The purpose for which this organization is
formed shall be educational and charitable in nature
and shall be to promote active participation in
performing and graphic arts; to advance the culture
of the region; to establish educational programs for
the encouragement of performing arts and for the
training and development of individuals in all
phases of performing and graphic arts and
production; to produce works having educational and
artistic value and; to produce performances and
exhibitions which will advance public appreciation
of the performing and graphic arts.”
